With roots extending deeper than the current move to green, the A.B.E.E.P. Project began with yurts. Low cost, portable, low impact housing was the original goal of Stephen and Susan Carpenter, when they began building yurts for customers. Over time as people sought ways to remove themselves from a growing power grid, and after looking at various alternative power options, something dawned on them, why just use one or two options? Many of the methods being used had drawbacks to them, but those same drawbacks were just what others needed to make them work. With this in mind a transformation began, property was set aside and yurts were built. The following pages document the project, both it’s goals and discoveries. The over all goal of the A Better Earth Energy Project (ABEEP) is to be able to provide small neighborhoods, remote locations, disaster areas, ect. the ability to produce low cost, sustainable, eco friendly energy.
